After a few days of really hard rain I was stir crazy and wanted to go outside and I just couldn't get bryce out the door with me to play in the rain. When, I saw Alyson and Serena and her friend walking down the street, I got my opportunity. All it took was telling bryce that I saw them outside and he was out the door. The result? As you can see we jumped off a large pile of dirt into a giant puddle. That day I went to buy some knee High muck boots so that I could join the fun.
Calen is at nature camp, steph is at cranial secral class and bryce and I were left to have some fun in the short break between rain storms. We put on our best rain gear and jumped on the weehoo and ended up at ragel park pretty dirty looking for chestnuts.
Bryce has two favorite things. Remote control cars and sweets. The awesome aspect of them having an allowance is that this power child has all the control. we went out to Sears today and he saw some wheels that he wanted to buy buy he didn't have enough money. Then we past these remote control trucks and he barely had enough allowance to buy it so he did. So many great lessons were taught in those moments of making decisions. Everything from delayed gratification to simple math. Calen was there to help, he is always the teacher and friend to his little brother. As for the cookie, it is dessert night and we traded gluten and dairy free cookies for rice pudding at our favorite local restaurant.
These are photos of bryce having lunch after our bike ride. I started with the brocoli and dressing and after a few minutes resistant he dove in! Hungry boys eat and enjoy their greens! :-D
You know that a little boy is thinking about remote control cars when he draws a picture of a dozen or so with the remote control. Bryce spent some time on this. He and calen recent got new remote control cars and that has been the focus.
Jeff cooked a Turkey that he and a friend hunted in a weber kettle grill with charcoal over a three hours. Calen said that it was the best turkey he had ever eaten. This is a photo of Bryce with a bone of meat in his hand. He is pretty picky and he liked it as well. One large wild turkey has enough meat for a few meals.
After an hour of looking for caches we finally found one in the peace garden of ragel park. This one had a big container and the boys left more toys than they took.
Bryce watches and learns from his older brother so much. He is starting to learn to write after watching calen go through the process and practice.
We have three feral cats. One is a great hunter and one is learning to be held and fed by the boys. They now have names. Magic, skiddy, and white flash. By the end of the winter magic will be domestic I'm thinking.
It is so fun to see bryce start doing things that only calen could do a year ago. Here he is on the electric quad 4 Wheeler. They tie a Wagon on it to move things around the yard. Bryce was so happy driving it and cute with his little bear hat under the helmet
There is a great trail that we love to bike here in Sebastopol. This one is through vineyards by Graton and Forestville
Here we are at Mulerath's farm buying some pumpkins. We also did the corn maze and the really cool and dark haunted hay house! Bryce loved the haunted house so much we did it twice, both times in my arms:-)
Bryce loves the chickens buy I don't think they love him back. It is pretty funny watching both boys chase the chickens around and go grab eggs from the hen house.
Boys love Himalayan food. We're so blessed to they have a large pallet with lots of different things they like to eat.
